1997 wheel fit

Ok need some help im a noob when it comes to wheel fitments and such

So heres the stats

I have a 3" toytec lift
i wanna put my 33x12.50x17 pro comps on
so Im looking at a set of Helo Maxx 6 17x9 wheels

What im worried about is the backspacing, the wheels have a 5.47" backspace with a -12mm offset and they are not hubcentric.

What im wondering is will I need hub spacers or anything to fit these wheels.

I was looking on cardomain and came across "Project Surf" some here probably know which runner im talking about.

But i noticed he was running hub spacers with his helo maxx 6's

So will i need hub spacers or with the backspacing and offset of these wheels will they fit just fine?

So what would I need to make them work because this is the nicest afordable wheel that i could find that i like would the 5.47" backspacing make them stick out too far or not far enough

My runner also came stock with 15" wheels if it helps any

12.5" is simply too wide to run without rubbing, even if you had the 4-4.5" BS'ing on your wheels. Unless you get another 1.5-2" of lift, 33x11s (285/70R17s) are the biggest you can go with your 3" Toytec lift w/o rubbing a lot. Actually, I think even if you get more lift and 4.5" BS'ed wheels, the 33x12.5s may still rub in the rear.

The lower the # on the backspacing, the more they stick out.

My runner also came stock with 15" wheels if it helps any

stock backspacing is around 4.5". having wheels that have a 5.5 inch backspace mean that the wheel will sit 1 inch further IN. even with a stock backspacing, i think that a 12.5 is too much. 3.5-4 inch is more what you want but they will stick out pretty far

well i went ahead and ordered the wheels and im gonna try and run the 33's if they rub too bad i can always break out the ziz wheel and cut some sheet metal, and i may end up ordering some spidertrax wheel spacers if need be

i'm gonna be really surprised if they come close to fitting. a 285 on a stock wheel will usually rub on the UCA without wheel spacers. just for reference, a 285 is a 11.2 inch tire and a stock wheel has about 4.5 inches of backspace..so yeah. i doubt it will come close.

Sorry i forgot to update, anyways they fit perfect the only place it rubbed was the passenger side front valance so i just had to trim maybe 1/8" off of the palstic and they fit great.

That's good. You don't have flares I see, that helps with the rear not rubbing. They look great!

thanks, itll be even better without the running boards and some sliders in their place. And a ARB or Shrockworks bumper wouldnt hurt either haha
