I recently picked up a mint condition, low mileage 1998 4Runner.
As she is dead stock in every way (even has the factory cassette player lol) I would like to start with some easy upgrades...a black front pushbar or brush guard that can hold 4 rectangular driving/lights, black rear tailight brushguards, a black light bar for 4 rectangular roof mounted driving lights, exhaust system upgrade and a new intake.
Also need to find a solution to the steering wheel which is the only flaw on an otherwise immaculate truck. The previous owner put a rubber cover over the leather wheel which dried it out and made the leather peel. The only choices I seem to have are a cheesy wheel cover from Auto Zone, a new or junkyard steering wheel (yike$$$) or a Grant steering wheel cover which only seems to come in burlwood (seems the best solution but I would prefer something in black)
I've done some online research but haven't found a website that doesn't look at least a little sketchy or offers much in the way of parts.
Of course I would love to find a local store in the San Francisco Bay Area that can supply these parts (and more) but haven't had much luck with that either.
I'm hoping that all of you experts on this truck can help me out...thank you in advance for any information on where to buy parts and any pictures you post that would show me similar upgrades to what I'm looking for.
