1998 4runner actual cash value

My pristine 98 4runner was totaled two weeks ago (other driver's fault), and insurance finally got me an initial offer of ~$8,300 for the car, almost $9,000 when factoring in ttl.

Has anyone here purchased a 98 recently or fought insurance on the cash value of one? I was hoping, based on nada and kbb to get closer to 10 for the car.

Details-
1998 4runner 4x4 limited
Anthracite
119k miles, one owner, no wrecks, impeccably maintained except for wear on the steering wheel.

CD Changer, sunroof, black pearl emblems, pretty much all options except heated seats, grill guard with lights.

Sad to lose my car after nearly 10 years, but I'm going to Dallas today to pick up my new '02 4runner.

Most insurance companies do not go by nada or kbb. They go by what the vehicles are selling for in your area, at the stealerships. Go find some for sale local and if they are asking more than show this to your insurance company. If they are selling for more than they have offered than this proves you can not get the exact same replacement vehicle for the price they are giving you. This is the best advice I can offer.

Edit: This is the only vehicle I found on autotrader in the houston area.

Thanks. AllState is using an ADP database to figure out the value. One problem is that they go off of recent sales in my area and not asking prices. Thanks for the link though, I'll certainly use it when they call me back with their 'revised' offer.

Sounds about $500-1K low, but is it worth the fight?

Thanks for the help. I ended up just telling them the offer was too low, then having to wait for about 24h before they called back. They came back with a total offer (ttl included) of 10,144. Holding out required essentially no effort on my part but I made $1,200. I'm sure it's just policy to give a lowball first offer and hope people blindly accept it, then dig into their 'wiggle room' if someone is willing to contest the estimate. Lesson learned.

Should have done that when my civic was totalled, but I was pretty happy with the first price.
