1998 4Runner stock rims (cleaning)

1998 4Runner 4x4 ltd

Here's my problem, a few years ago a friend of mine was having car trouble and I let him borrow the 4Runner for a week or so.

He managed to pick up a nail at some point during the week.

Unaware of the spare tire underneath the vehicle, or the know-how to retrieve it, he elected to fill the tire with a can of 'fix-a-flat'.

My problem is...the fix-a-flat solution leaked out of the tire all over my rim and it looks like crap to this day. I've tried just about everything that I can think of on it.

Does anyone have a clue what might clean this thing?

my rims went to trash over the winter from the salt and break dust and eveyrthing. i finnaly got the energy one day last week when it was kinda warm outside to clean them. i used BRILLOW PADS! suprisingly right but it gets the job done u have to scrub really hard for a while its not fun or easy but it gets the job done and then i just pollised the micro scrathces out wiht mothers aluminum pollish. REMEMBER TO RINSE GOOD AFTER SCRUBING! not sure if it will work for ur rims but it did for me good luck

there is a treated wadding called neverdull that cleans aluminum great. you can also use mothers mag polish. do NOT use an acid wheel cleaner as it will corrode the aluminum turning it white. Search the net for those products.

Id like to make my 98' wheels look new again as well, do any of yall have before and after pics or before stories and after pics?
