1998 and 1999 Swap Out

I have a 1998 4Runner Limited and have found a 1999 4Runner parts suv. Because the 1999 has a different front end (front bumper, etc) than the 1998, will the headlights and brush guard from the 1999 fit my 1998? Thanks for your help.

the lights r interchangeable so they'll fit but the bumper reinforcements on the 2 yrs r different so the guard most likely won't fit

the headlights for all 3rd gens are interchangable. However, not 100%, but the brush guard will not work because of the different bumper has different mounting points.

headlight yes brush guard no as the 99-02 bumpers stick out more

I think the brush guard would depend on how it mounts, I have seen a 99 front bumper on a 98, and I don't think there was much modification if any.

The fatlip bumper is from 99-02 and the reason why it was added was because they added a new crumple zone in the front and needed the bumper to extend out further to accommodate it. that why you can swap the fatlip bumper to older models but not the other way around

So you should be able to go 99 to 98 but may have a little extra space, prob not noticeable.
