Hello friends,
For sale is my 98 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4 Automatic. I’m only selling because I’m moving into a complex where we can only get one parking pass, and my lady’s car is nicer and newer. Today is a sad day for me, and a happy day for you.
Mileage : 289,xxx
Engine: 3.4l v6
4x4 hi and low work perfectly, all other gears work great as well as overdrive and ETC power.
It’s a 3rd gen 4runner, it will literally run forever with minor care, and take care of you even if you don’t take care of it.
In the last 3 years:
New radiator
New AT tires
New alternator
Yellow top optima
rear drum brake assembly completely rebuilt
New front rotors
The bad is that there are no back seats because my dad used it as a truck to get to and from
Home Depot in, so he removed the rear seats for extra storage space and the headliner is kinda scratched.
I also live in Colorado, so the windshield is cracked after a few seasons and there's the brake shake that everyone knows about, sometimes the driver side key hole gets a lil jammed up and takes a couple tries to unlock, but not so often that I've felt the need to get it fixed.
This truck starts up perfectly in all weather conditions and with the khumo ATs I’ve never been stuck in snow, ice or mud. With regular driving you’ve got at least 3-4 years left on the set.
The engine and trans will run for another 300k, so all you really need is a new windshield(maybe) or rear seats but none of these are things that stop the car from running or working as a commuter car or vehicle to take into the mountains. The ac blows cold, the heat blows hot. All six windows work.
Bonus gifts: weathertech floormats, 3d printed cup holder(which is how i found this forum in the first place), cb radio with PA speaker, voltmeter, double din stereo with aux input and backup camera, 95% wired for lightbar(that is either broken or wired wrong:shrug
or other accessories, also wired for subwoofers/other amp/accessory.
In all, as this truck stands, it will last another decade with basic maintenance. It’s great for a shop/work truck, or someone’s first car. I'm pretty emotional writing this because this has been my baby for the past decade, please buy this so I don't have to sell it on craigslist to someone who wont appreciate it.
