1998 SR5 Sputtering/Jerking HELP!

I have a 1998 SR5 2WD. When I first start it up in the mornings, it's like it's sputtering or kind of jerking during acceleration. After driving a few miles it stops and I don't have a problem with it until the next morning. I'm in school and it's a bit colder up here but there hasn't been a drastic drop in temperature that would cause this. I wasn't too worried about it until this morning when the check engine light began to flash obnoxiously at me. My thoughts are that maybe its a fuel injector or fuel lines? At home I was always parked on flat level ground. Here I'm constantly parking on hills, so if there's any build up or old fuel deposits maybe they've emerged from hiding and I guess are "clogging" or preventing fuel flow? If that sounds beyond idiotic I apologize. I'm still in the learning process in this category! Any opinions or like-experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I used to have a 95 Toyota t100 with the 3.4 v6. Whenever it was cold it would do the same thing, and then I found out why. Apparently toyota made it to where if the engine isn't up to a certain temp the truck will not accelerate past 20mph or so until that temp is reached. I started letting the truck warm up just a little longer (which you should do anyway btw) and never had the issue again. Give that a shot before you try chasing down any mechanical issues, could save you some time. Good luck
