Gents, I am shopping for a snorkel for a 1999 4Runner Limited. Could anyone advise a part number, where to order one, or any leads on the subject?

The only manufactured one out there is a Safari Snorkel. You want part number SS170HF. This is originally for the 95-04 Tacomas so you will need to get the Tacoma fender intake pipe aswell.
Do a search on the forums and you will find lots of info on how to do everything.

clearly, there are no snorkels for the 99 4Runner Ltd. but there is for the Tacoma that could fit the 4Runner with some mods... could anyone provide me some pics of the connection of the snorkel to the intake air box?

That's great. I guess the part I need to fit the snorkel to the 4Runner is what is labeled as Std. on the diagram

Update:

Place my order at Wheeler's Off-Road, Inc. Gary very helpful. Will post pics when installed.

Installation semi complete. What I learn?
Inner guard liner removed and will remain removed... very difficult to reinstall.
83mm hole saw: due to cost of hole saw and adapter, you can buy a DREMEL and get the job done & you have a tool you can use over and over again
Use Thread Lock when installing the bolts to the snorkel body before fixing on fender
The Upper bolt to secure the snorkel to the fender I did NOT bother... I did not remove the antenna as per the instructions...PITA... the two other bolts and the three securing the snorkel to the A frame should do.
My 1999 4RUNNER does not have the fender hose, as show on the SS170HF_full , item "Std", need to buy this to complete the installation.
Overall, I am very happy so far, it looks clean and gives the Runner a distinct look

Enjoy the PICs

Good stuff, glad it all worked out for you. I like the look of the intake scoop backwards, gives it a kind of competition look.

roof rack??

Hey man, love your roof rack.
I am looking for a full length roof rack for my 97.
how did you attach it to your roof? almost looks like
its sitting down directly on the roof.

I have the factory rack, but it only takes up half the roof like it was made for a truck with a sunroof. I am trying to find a full length rack and basket.
