1999 speaker sizes

I am looking to upgrade all speakers and HU in my daughters 99 4Runner LTD. What are the speaker sizes in the front and rear doors and will a larger speaker fit in either door? Also, should I go with a double din unit or a single din with adapter? thanks

Fronts should be 6.5 components and rear can fit a 5.25 coaxial with slight modification. I think 4s would drop in the rear doors but don't quote me on that. I have 5.25s in my rear doors. The 5.25s should drop in with a 1/2 inch speaker plate.

I just replaced my daughters in her 97 T4R - not sure if 99 is the same - but think they are.

I went with 6.75" components in the front - Blaupunkt PCcb660 from 12V Electronics. very very minor mod needed to make them fit. 6.5"s would be too small unless it has a larger mounting frame.

I installed 4" coxials in the rear - but should have installed 5 1/4".

Just do 6 1/2" in the front and 5 1/4" in the rear. I would do comps for the front and a coaxial for the rears.

If your really nice do a double din. . If she wanted a screen, but you wanted to do a single din you could install a flip out screen.
