Hi all, I have a 1999 SR5 4Runner with 259,300 miles on it. I've changed the oil regularly, timing belt, water pump, etc., but have never changed the transmission oil since I bought this truck new in 99. I've heard mixed opinions about chaning the Trans Oil, or not changing it, after a given amount of time has gone by. Any opinions out there on what I should do??

The main thing you don't want to do is flush it, too many horror stories around about that. You can drop the pan and it will have about 2-3 quarts, fill that back up is safe. Do that a few times at oil change and most of it will be changed.
The other way that I hear is safe to do is pulling out the in and out lines from the tranny, crank it up and put it in gear (brake on of course) and let it drain itself, at the same time feeding the new fluid in the intake. I am about to try this method soon but am by no means an expert, I intend to get my neighbor (toyota mechanic) to give me a hand with it.
At your mileage I would say it is way past due.
