1st gen dent dilemma.

1987 4Runner, got a pretty bad punch in under the right rear tailight as shown in pics...
I was thinking of having sheet metal plates built at my dads shop to cover the area, after cleaning it out, and wrapping around towards the front a foot or so. Added off road protection and dent repair.
What in the humble opinion of ya'll is the best way of getting rid of this dent? :shrug:

damn brother thats a dent++
the real issue is the rust id think. need a salvageable corner, cut out the old and put in the new? though i dont know how the hell to do that, ive seen people do it alot on these boards.
You could just bob the rear, but i guess then that brings on a bunch of other issues (top not fitting, etc etc)

Find a rig in a wrecking yard or on cl and cut off the back corner (more than you think you will need), then make a matching cut on your rig, and weld the new one in. Be sure to make sure you cut off all the rust!
