I’m working through a list of items on my 4Runner like the rest of us with a 30 plus year old vehicle. Just finished getting the exhaust leaks dealt with and mechanically it’s pretty done, now I can work on cleaning up the interior, replacing the rugs with new ones from rock auto and using a green machine to hopefully clean the rest.

What is this "green machine"? I rented something from Kroger to see if it would remove some stains. Only some sadly.

It’s a portable carpet cleaner, works great on door cards and seats too.

Okay cool. I'm dying to have a bright gray carpeted interior instead of the worn color it is. I'm tempted to pull the carpet completely out and pressure wash it. Maybe a weekend job

I've already pulled half of it to replace the sound deadening under the front seats/mats

Yeah, would be happy to help. Fun working on our classics. Keep us posted, however, so we can help with ideas, etc.

BTW,
If you're able to pull out the carpets that you want to keep, just throw them in a front-loading washing machine (no agitator blades). That's how I cleaned mine. Worked well. However, I now plan to replace carpet with low-maintenance and easy-clean diamond-plate pattern floor runner like these.

Yes it is by my understanding. The P.O. owned it for most it’s life and used it as a road vehicle. Doesn’t look to have been off road. Never had the top removed.

Thanks man! Yes to everything lol. Plus a Marlin 4.7 t-case, gears, rear locker etc. Gonna eventually get build thread going when i can

Did the Marlin HD shift lever socket and ball seat and went for a spin. I love Vancouver Island.
