my new 87

4 x 4runner, in the last year my friends and i have sas'ed three toyota's, all of them have transfer case have twin transfer case's and some super low gearing and the smallest tires being used are 35's. And all three of them have the bullet proof 22re with the 5spd man. trans. the only problem is keeping highway speed up a steep grade, other than that i would never upsize the engine passed the 4cyl.

800 bucks got me this baby. one new head gasket later shes already saving me money. anyone know where to get a soft top for her?

That runner is sick! what do you have done to it? i got a 88 t4r a year ago and have been trying to get it built up but i am having trouble finding parts and all that.

Here is my 84, I have done a few things to it since i bought it back in April. I tore out the carpet, fixed the rust holes in the rear wheel wells, my father and i built the front bumper, i installed front mud flaps. Coming up next is a complete OME 2in lift kit.
Second day of ownership.

My 87 I just picked up

It has 360,000 on it. I think it's had a motor......but I'm unsure. It is an Auto, runs like a top. I had the exhaust done with a Flowmaster, tuned it up, polished it. I still have to do the axle seals and rear brakes.
It had a wrecked bumper and valance when I got it........
Oh, I picked it up for $1200......:wow:

Hey guys Nice mods on all of your classics. I'm a new proud owner of a 1989 T4R. Got a decent trade for my 89 Honda Accord. Now all the work I really need to enjoy this T4R fully is suspension. Now I have searched the forum and can't find anyone posting for 89's. My biggest problems are replacement leaf spring for the rear and new torsion bars for the front. Can someone point me in the right direction.

1987 No rust,All original as purchased from dealership,averaging 24 mpg last tank.I couldn't stand the 13 to 15 from my 95 anymore.This is my daily driver except when I can ride the Harley.The stripes are crazy but it reminds me of the late 80's and early 90's when the dealerships sold all of those customs.It was the General managers until 99.
