The stripes are actually painted.I'm getting used to them and thinking I might touch up some of the nicks and scuff it down and put several coats of clear on it this summer.Thanks for the comments I'll post some more pics tomorrow.She still needs some tlc but we're getting there.

Hey guys Nice mods on all of your classics. I'm a new proud owner of a 1989 T4R. Got a decent trade for my 89 Honda Accord. Now all the work I really need to enjoy this T4R fully is suspension. Now I have searched the forum and can't find anyone posting for 89's. My biggest problems are replacement leaf spring for the rear and new torsion bars for the front. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Get yourself some Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs for the rear, they even sell torsion bars for the front if you want less than a 3" lift. If you want stock height springs there are a few makes around, the only one I remember for sure is NWOR (Northwest Off Road).

Hello, chiming in here with my beat up 86.
This model had every single option available that year, and was in really nice shape when I bought it. Over the last 10 yrs or so, it's managed to lose the paint job, lose the power windows, and lost the turbo few years ago too.

Here is Mine

This is my 1988 4runner DLX 5speed with 215,000 miles. I have replaced the tailgate and painted it flat black with a rattle can paint job. Other than that it is still stock. I got the alloys on craigslist for $50 with all the center caps! Then sold the steel wheels for $50.

Interior needs some work. That will be next.

Just got this on Thursday! Started getting it cut and grounded down! SAS will be starting soon!

I will keep you all updated as the build goes on. I want to do the 3" trail gear IFS eliminator up front with the 4" trail gear rear lift. I also plan on 5.29 gears front and rear with lockers in both. Also many more mods.

Have you always lived in Bristol? I was born as raised there. Moved to Arizona in 1998 after Raytheon closed down.

1986 Toyota 4Runner SR5 (Candian edition) Originally from the Victoria region
of our northern neighbors, it founds its way to Arizona, eventually to my hands. Speedo reads in Km/h, Odometer reads 2XX,XXXkms, I calculated ~155,000 miles. Modifications are 4" Pro-comp lift, Aisin Manual hubs, ARB Front bumper with a Warn winch, and 33x1250x15 BFG M/Ts.

Oh, and the stickers are gone.

Second is the last time mudding...took FOREVER to clean it all out of everything. No more mud. Rock crawling is more my style.

3rd one is from last week ( Jan. 21, 2010 ) was mainly taking a pic of the big bird and got the truck as I was washing it.
