Hello, chiming in here with my beat up 86.
This model had every single option available that year, and was in really nice shape when I bought it. Over the last 10 yrs or so, it's managed to lose the paint job, lose the power windows, and lost the turbo few years ago too.

Looks damn good! Nice score on that first gen. But hey seriously, what's with the daggerboard hanging all off the port side there? Your going to just have to keep swapping sides on that when you tack, lol.

1986 body panels

Hi,
I just picked up an 86 tr4 with 130,000 miles. It does need a few body panels, but its a runner. Does anyone know a good place to find body parts etc? And for front fenders and related is it the same as a 86 4x4 truck?

heres my 86't4r i just got today...paid a whooping $1800 for it....it has a new long block with paper work...specs are .030 over and it says its been stroked to 2.7 liters.has an auto tranny,but is very peppy.yes the running boards and mudflaps and some other pieces are going in the attic.the green carpet will be one of the first things gone.any ways here it is....thats my grand cherokee in the 2nd to last pic....5.2,auto lockers f/r pretty badass,but the runner is replacing it.bottom 3 pics are as it sits now.....lots more to come

Looks like one I just saw on Craigslist in Orlando last week, somewhere around 150K miles...is that the one?

I was going to suggest it to a friend of mine for her daughter. She wants an automatic.

yes sir it is.heres what i just got done doing to it.painted the cap black...looks way better.up next is...remove and build new rear bumperand level the rear out.

Ooohhh, Canbacks are nice, but very expensive.

I only paid about $600 for my Softopper. I have been very happy with it.

I'll never put my hard top back on again.
Know anyone who needs a good hard top?

My 95' 4runner

Brand New 4Runner enthusiust. Just recently bought a 1995 manual v6 3.0 sr5, and totally fell in love. I was never really a car guy, but it was definitly love at first site. Toyota has gotten a pretty bad wrap lately, but I wasn't worried being that it's only newer models that have issues. Anyways after I got home and looked it over, I was really surprised to see how rusted out the undercarriage was. I did some research and found out how common that was. Also my rear bumper was severely rusted through, on the face bar, and the ends, even the brackets. I was originally going to just restore it, but I decided to go with a new one. There was also minor body damage. Has anyone ever had a problem w/ they're tires bubbling out, and what does it mean? Here are some pics I took. If anyone has a suggestion on where to get cheap bumper replacements I would appreciate it. Also can anyone tell me the exact parts I will need to replace the entire bumper. The middle arm brackets are still in place, but the rest of the parts were so rusted out they snapped off when I removed the bumper. Well its cool to know there is a forum like this out there, and I will definitley keep you posted.
