1st gen top restoration.

Hi there, I have an 89 red 4rnr with a faded red top. Does anyone have any I deas what to use to bring it back to life and shiny? Also are the trim pieces on the side under/forward of the rear-side windows removable? Mine are starting to rust along the bottom so I'd like to take them off and sand and paint them. Thanks for any help in advance

painting the top is fairly easy depending on your "skill level" .. and yes the L trims are removable
