This First Gen is available in my area;

1986]Manitoba cars for sale, buy used autos - Kijiji Manitoba Toyota 4Runner DLX SUV - Manitoba Cars For Sale - Kijiji Manitoba Canada.

The Price strikes me as really high, but It is CAD, in USD that'd still be $6700

Is there any chance it's worth this, or any Ideas of what might be a reasonable price?

I know going for a test drive is probably best, but it isn't super close, and at this point I figured would be easier to see what the forum thinks.

I've mainly been looking at 2nd and 3rd gens for half the price or lower($1500-$3000). I just thought I'd ask the experts here since I have little experience.

Thanks in advance!

just looked at your thread and this guy is crazy with rust on the wheel openings then there has to be more in other places . NOT GOOD ! his price is way to high 1500.00 to 2000.00 at the most in my op

Same

My thoughts were about the same. I figured someone may have an explanation.

I see a 1988 not far away too and he's saying $5000, I asked for pics it looks in very nice condition, and he said he's reduced to $4200 and will accept offers

1988 Toyota 4Runner Convertible - Manitoba Cars For Sale - Kijiji Manitoba Canada.

Still seems high to me though maybe it's just the market here. They seem to be slightly more rare than the jeeps I've been looking at. (XJs / ZJs). Most people online seem to figure the T4Rs should be in higher supply.

Now be careful about this 88 it has the v6 that is known for head gasket issues. I own one and love that it has more power then the 22re but its a risk you take when you buy a 3.0l. Good luck on your hunt 2nd gens seem to be cheaper at least in the states.

Yea thanks. I found a 2nd gen 1991 in great shape with only 142,000km (~90,000miles)

They wanted $3000 and I thought that seemed pretty good given the extremely low mileage, it sold before I made an offer.

Anyways thanks for the info I'm still getting used to figuring out pricing on these vehicles. I appreciate the help.

7500 CDN$. There are 4th Gens for that much on kijiji. You can get the "famous" 2uz-fe engine instead, 4doors, have it shift smoothly for you, and it would be beastlier in the snow with Atrac, and VSC can save your Arse.

If you can convince yourself to hold off...

The fact that he probably paid and did the work to import it from the US, paid to have work done doesn't warrant that price. You can't recoupe costs like that. The truck needs to have brakes, it needs springs, it needs shocks, it needs and interior, it needs a roof. Those aren't extra. What ever his ton of work to it was, it was to get it to be sellable or so he thought.

Now what he has is a truck that is valued at what ever book value says it is... oh wait...it's so old it's not even in a book.

It's a working parts truck, 200$ axles x2...400$, engine 200$, transmission 200$, tcase 200$, frame 500$, body 1000$, interior 200$

let's say 2700$ that's only because someone is an afficianato, otherwise someone dealing in these would probably not pay anything more than 1000$. probably try to take it for less than 500$

2nd gen 3.0s are cheap as dirt here in PNW. 22re 2nd gens, wow, some people ask 4-5k. I can get a 3rd gen for that!!
