Had my new-to-me 4Runner out in the snow yesterday!
We had around 6" to 8" of heavy wet'ish snow, and although the primary roads were pretty much cleared off by the time I got out of work, the side roads were essentially untouched by the plows.
Even with 12 year old Bridgestone Dueler H/T's with not quite 13K on them, the vehicle felt quite sure-footed and stable running through the snow, often at more than what would be considered a prudent speed for the conditions (I have to get to 'know' the vehicle - right?!).
In the past, I have been a been a long term owner of a Ford Bronco II, an Isuzu Trooper and a Honda Pilot (currently our other vehicle), and I must say that in my very limited time in the 4Runner, that it 'feels' much more solid than any of the others in snow (with the Trooper in 2nd place).
I can't wait to get some new shoes on it, probably a set of DuraTrac's (or Bridgestone All-Terrain TA's) ! !
