2 antenna wires?

i have an 04 sport and i just installed a new HU and their is two antenna wires from the factory HU. i only plugged in the main wire to the new HU and i barely get any stations at all. i never got very good reception but n ow it is terrible. is their a converter or anything that i can get?

Petegaz did an awesome write-up on everything behind the dashboard including the problem EVERYONE's been having with their radio reception after they install a new HU. It's all about the antenna amplifier that you have to power. It's towards the bottom of his write-up.

all you need to hook up is the large antenna wire and hook up the power antenna lead from your head unit it will power the internal antenna amp in your 4runner works great
