2 bad Dunlop from the Factory 08 SE 4x4

I picked up my new Salsa Red Pearl 4x4 SE 2 weeks ago. After about a week I started to notice the steering wheel vibrate at highway speeds. I took it in yesterday (600 on the odo.) and my Dealership service department performed a road force balance check on all 5 tires.

4 out of 5 were out of balance and 2 out of 5 could not pass the balance check and were replaced under warranty. They noted "excessive vibration" on the work order.

I knew going in the Dunflops were a POS tire. But I never had problems like this with my 2004.

Anyway hopefully all will be well from now on.

No biggie, things like that happen....especially since some cars sit on the lot for some time, and hardly move or get driven. Sounds like the dealership service department is going to take care of it for you.

WOW - sounds like a dealer that's on the ball! I had issues with my Dunlops and was always told it was normal for an SUV and that they were cheap tires. Hopefully I'll wear them out soon and will replace them with decent tires.

Dunlap = Bummer

Isn't a shame we pay a premium price for a so called premium car, T4R, then pay even more for an upgraded 17" wheel......
