2 ohm speaker --> 4 ohm amp?

I've searched this forum and googled a lot, but have yet to find a simple answer to the following question - Can I use a 2 ohm speaker with a 4 ohm amp?

Based on everything I've read - the answer might not be easy, so here's what I'm trying to do.

Replace JBL 10 speaker system in 2003 4runner ltd.

Head unit installed = kenwood dnx7100

(everything else is stock for now).

Amp received the other day = Alpine PDX-5
75w RMS x 4 @ 4 ohm
300w RMS x 1 @ 4 ohm (or 2 ohm)

Speakers I was going to order today:

Front = Infinity Perfect 6.1 (3 ohm)
Rear = Kappa 52.7I (2 ohm)
Sub = Pioneer TS-SW841D (4 ohm)

Will I have a problem running the 2 ohm Kappa's at 4 ohms?

Everything I've read indicates that "it might work" or "it might run hot"...but I'm hoping some of you gurus can provide a little clearer insight.

It could run the output section hotter but all the speakers should be the same resistance because a 2 ohm speaker will be louder than a 4 ohm speaker. You would want them all to be the same, or at least I would. Hope this helps.

Yeah, thanks - guess I'll keep it simple and find a different set of rears that run 4 ohm.

or you could get a JL Slash series amp where resistance doesn't matter....

Most amps are 2 ohm stable you just can't bridge channels at 2 ohms

Your amp is stable at 2 to 4 ohm. You will not have any problem with this setup.

300w RMS x 1 @ 4 ohm (or 2 ohm)
