2 or more sets of wheels for different occasions

How many of you guys/gals have a set of wheels for daily driving and a set for offroading?

Been there, done that. Total PITA. I got to where I could swap 5 tires in around 40 minutes using just the stock 4runner jack (didn't have a floor jack) but even then it was a total PITA. Plus with TPMS you have to resolve yourself to having one set of tires with no TPMS. And it always seemed like I had the wrong set of tires on (like I'd take my snow tires off in early May in favor of my off road tires - which suck in snow - and then a week later we'd get a big snowstorm.)

After 2 years of that I said "the hell with it" and got a set of tires that will work for both, and sold the other set. I'm very happy with that decision.

I've been doing this for the past ten years at least. I have my 33/10.50 BFG KM2s mounted on the original 15x6" rims it came with. I use these only for rockcrawling. The DD set are BFG Long Trails on 16x7" rims I bought off my neighbor for $100 bucks when he got new rims n tires for his '04 Tacoma. Works out great since I have slave labor(sons)to do the swap. :yo:

I have the stock wheels with Blizzaks tires on them.

Then aftermarket wheels with ATZ P3'son them for the other three seasons.

I live in NEO Ohio and this is pretty common. Every vehicle I have owned has done the same ritual.

Blizzaks on steelies for the winter, ignore the tpms light for 4 months. Street tires the rest of the year.

I've been swapping tires on OEM rims for the past 2 runners and it is getting to be a PITA also. $48 each swap 2X a year on both runners = $200/year. Not to mention squeezing the appointments in my schedule.
I need a fairly aggressive tread for hunting and ice fishing and the old lady runs blizzaks in the winter. Contemplating getting a nice set of 17" rims cause I'm gonna have these runners for a while.

I'm contemplating it because I would just buy the jack, jack stands, air compressor and impact wrench and do it in my garage. To me, it's a waste of good expensive wheels to be driving around on mud terranes plus having witnessed them for the first time in snow this past winter and realizing they suck, I'd rather have something like BFG KO's or any other well liked all season tire.

I have winter and summer tires and rims now for all the vehicles we own. I swap them out myself, nothing to it.
