this is my first post on this board, so i'd first like to thank all of you for helping me out.

i'm having trouble with a couple of minor maintenance issues with my 4runner.

problem #1: i've got a brake light out on the driver side. i bought a new bulb but am having trouble fixing the problem. i'm not sure if i'm supposed to take off the entire red tail light cover or if i can replace the bulb by going in from the inside of the truck.

problem #2: the sprayer on my front windshile wipers is not working. i'm assuming there is a hose/tube that has come off somewhere but i'm not real sure where to look for that.

thanks for any help yall have. i'm new to these toyotas..well let's face it. i'm just not very good at working on these minor issues yet.

thanks,
clint

#1 - from inside. Page 344 of your owner's manual has a diagram.

#2. The tubing comes up on the passender side along the hood hinge.

thanks john!

i'll check it out tomorrow. i was trying to go by what the manual said for the tail light, but was very confused by the diagram. the bulb i need to replace is in the middle. i unplugged the power source but was confused on where to go from there. from the diagram it looked to me like i'm supposed to twist the plastic part. i tried twisting but it didn't turn easily, so i wanted to ask before i really tried to twist it hard. i really don't want to break. thanks again for your help.

i was able to fix the problem with the washer fluid sprayer...there was a kink in the tube. but i'm still having trouble with the tail light...anymore help would be greatly appreicated. thanks!

Sometimes bulb holders get to be tough to turn. Just make sure you're turning it to loosen and keep after it. It will let you win eventually.

i'm starting to feel like a real idiot, but i do appreciate your help john.
No problem -- we're all here to help each other. Most likely your problem is that the holder may be awkward to reach (I've not had to change the bulbs yet on mine).
