2 Questions.. ARB/Trans Cooler & Top plate Spacers

I figured someone has to know but as far as finding what I needed, it was taking forever.

1st off, does a TRD trans cooler install require me taking off my ARB bumper or just my skid?

2nd, I'm wanting to raise my front end up slightly and was going to buy top plate spacers. Does it require a full disassemble to get this done because of installing the longer bolts?

Thanks

ARB no, skid yes. You need to be able to get to the cooler lines which are blocked by the skid plate.

Yeah you have to disassemble the struts if you are using longer bolts. The 3/8" spacer requires longer studs, but the 1/4" don't.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that coil preloaded spacers require disassembly Since the spacer is going inbetween the coil & top hat, and top plate spacers don't since they mount on top of the top hat (hence the name). The 3 bolts you're removing to take off the coil assembly off the truck are the ones you're replacing with longer units, and the center bolt that disassembles the strut is left alone. Maybe someone running them can chime in?

Well, here is my dilemma with the top plate spacers. Not only is it a pain in the ass to disassemble everything (for the umpteenth time), my passenger strut top stud is stripped. It's been like this for a while. If I take it off again, it will not be going back on. So, reason I asked is cus if you have to take everything apart to knock out the standard bolts to put in the longer ones I won't be able to do it. Therefore, I wont be getting them and just have to get over the fact my truck is a little raked.

That's why I suggest you get some 1/4" spacers. No removing of the bolts or disassembling the struts. Plus you will get ~.365" out of them. May not seem like a lot, but it will make a difference.

Not to steal your thread, but wondering how much lift you lost with the arb? Is it still 2.5" with the arb or less?

I don't remember what it was to begin with.. I know the 883's give very close to a full 3" in the front. They are also a medium duty coil to withstand up to 100 lbs. It's probably sitting at about .50" to .75" lower than when I first put them on. Not only is my ARB causing the sag but the front skid as well. Together they are around 150.
