$20 Air Compressor???

Today, I just started putting together an emergency roadside kit with jumper cables , tool kit, tow strap, etc, etc. to keep in my truck.

My question is this. I keep seeing these tiny air compressors that plug ito the cigarette lighter. They are very small, but claim to produce 200-300psi.

I was thinking about adding this to my emergency kit, but.......do these things really work or would I be better off with a manual bicycle pump?

Anyone have experience with these? At only $20 I'm skeptical.

They work fine. If you use them to fully inflate a truck tire, yes, it will take a long time. But if you just want to add a few PSI to a tire that's a bit low on air, they work perfectly.

If you want one that can run a long time non-stop, look for a compressor with a high duty cycle.

Another option is to buy one of the Mastercraft pumps. They cost more (about $50) and are much heavier, but they will fully inflate a truck tire in a much shorter time period.
