Definitely snake oil. Actually, to be more precise, he's selling an off the shelf resistor that you can get at any electronics store for a lot less, not that it would work. (Look closely at the pics at the bottom of the ad; there is a resistor with the leads bent to insert it into the stock connector.)

I read a post somewhere that someone put this in a 4Runner and the engine would not idle right and could not go over 2K rpm, even after it was removed. He was begging for HELP!
