Okay, disregard that. My idea is 100% in violation of forum rules :tape: . That means I'll be stuck with my crummy user name forever, too.

I know I'm pushing towards spamming this thread, but I thought this would be a helpful addition. To anyone trying to find productive ways to add to their comment count, check out the Polls section of the forums. You can contribute to the polls and join the discussion while you're at it.
Additionally, contribute to photo galleries and check out the discussions in the Off Topic sections. You might even find some subsets of T4R fans that you have more in common with. Good luck!

I agree. Unfortunately I am building my 4runner right now and wanted to make a thread on my build log like many people seem to do. e.g. Ripcord. I am in the midst of working on it and would be nice to get some of my work out there so that I can show people what I am up too. I understand spam can be a problem, but I agree that a text message identification works just fine as that is what banks seem to use, and that much more serious.

The thing is, a rule like this is actually DETRIMENTAL to the culture of a site like this. The whole “search first then post” or “gosh use the search function why don’t you” principal means that a newer member would spend a MUCH longer time getting up to 20 posts. Because they’re reading not posting. New members on other sites often will post a thread or two while figuring everything out, and that volume is probably MUCH lower than the volume of newbies out here (including myself) posting meaningless posts just to up their count so they can participate as full members.

Given how few CTS-V owners there are its surprising they make them jump through hoops like that.
Huh. Interesting. Totally get the classifieds thing, I’ve been on bladeforums for years, and you have to have a paid membership to post to the classifieds. And non paying members have to have a certain number of posts before posting in a classifieds thread.
That does add perspective I guess.
