$200 Birthday present?

So my birthday is next week and I'm not really sure what I want. I don't need many things at the house, video games, "toys", etc.

I just bought a new computer, don't need a TV or fancy things, but wouldn't mind a little something for my 4runner.

Has anyone bought something recently at or around $200 that they really enjoyed?

I have a 1997 and already have done the cupholder mod and the map light mod.

I have fog lights...and a Gobi ladder so those $200 are done.

Anything else?

Oh and I don't need a cd player.

Projectors, but that might be a little more. CB or sliders? I'm also in the same boat as I just got my bonus and it gives me about $600 spending money, but I'm going to spend it all on tires. Exciting, but anti-climatic.

One of my favorite sub $200 mods ive done is the auto dimming rear view mirror with comPass and temp reading. I had no idea when i did it but i REALLY appreciate it every time i drive it. My last job i commuted a 2000' +/- elevation change so in winter its crucial info for when the roads iced up, but ill tell you what, at night time the auto dim is kick A$$. Ive never had it before and had no idea how usefull it is.

I believe i got my cippa 36500 (?) for like $130+/- from amazon. I would take the change and do the honda passport armrest mod, also an unexpectedly super kick a$$ appreciate every time i drive mod.

My 2 cents, make sure you show us what you decide.

You could put it towards a full size spare, on board air, recovery gear - straps, hi-lift, shackles, tools, tundra brakes, skids, husky floor liners, replace lower ball joints, snow chains if you go to the snow.

Or you could save it and put it towards something bigger.

Sliders sound good but I'm waiting to see the final product of Outdoor logic has before I get any.

I really like the front bumper from them and want to support more of their products.

oh and to the OP.. I say put it aside for something bigger. Bumper or skids, etc... I do like the maintenance option.

I say save it for something big...

but some $200 ideas for you:

LED Tail lights + 3rd Tail light is about $200

LED Tail lights + clear corners is about $200

K&N Intake is about $200

A really good detail (buff 3 times, wax, shampoo interior, etc) is about $200

You could do a lot of little things, like the diff breather mod, deckplate mod, ISR mod, and shackle mounts or something and still have some change left

$200 can get you a nice air compressor for on board use

Front skid is about $200, but I'd save and get them all together anyway

A set of 4 Spidertrax wheel spacers is about $200

A Cobra 19 DX IV CB, 18ft coaxial cable/2 or 3 foot jumper coaxial, 4" Firestik II antenna, HD antenna spring, antenna mount hardware, SWR Meter, driffter33 antenna mount, and a PA speaker can be had for less than $200 total.

$200 will get you a good quality tint for your whole truck

$200 can also pay for a nice muffler and catback exhaust/tip (just don't go MagnaBlow unless you feel like spending that $200 over and over again)

A good set of tools for the car from Sears is always helpful. I keep a mobile toolbox with every socket and wrench I could want, plus it's got room for other things like pliers, allen wrenches, other stuff. I have a ton of stuff in mine.

Perhaps you'd like some window vent visors? For only $50 online, not bad! You could also throw in some other goodies, like clear corners or a nice set of Weathertech liners or floor mats.

Those are just some ideas in my head, hope you enjoy what you buy!

My favorite <$200 purchase for the 4Runner thus far has been my smoked LED tail lights/clear corners, front turn signal lenses.

Another option is WeatherTech Floorliners. I have them and never have to vacuum my carpets anymore.

+1 on the tools. Get a good set of wrenches or a good torque wrench that will be around long after the 4runner, at least the 3rd generation.

I'd say floor liners and a Scan Gauge. My b-day is coming up to and I'm getting the wifey to buy me some new speakers for the fronts, will probably get the ScanGauge on my own dime here soon.

Heres the thing. you could buy a scion T1806 head unit and i pod connector cable, plugs, wires and coils if you need um and a oil change for that. Maybe a set of used 99 tall coils or maybe 880 and 906s. Im cheap.:infidel:
