I am replacing the timing belt and water pump on my wife's 2000 4Runner,3.4 ltr. at 150K miles, 1st t-belt replacement on this truck. I was wondering if I need to confirm or doing anything in addition to lining up the timing marks on the Cam Pulleys and Crank Pully? Do I need to confirm TDC before putting everything back together? I thing the right hand Cam Pulley may have gone around an extra time but the mark is lined up with the backplate "V" notch.
Also please advise on crank pulley positioning with belt. I see a top mark on the flange back of he pulley +plus another mark at 3 o'clock or 90 deg.s to the right. I am pretty sure this right hand mark will line up with the "CR" mark on the new timing belt. Just wanting additional confirmation.
Also any tips or things I need to watchout for when replacing the water pump will be greatly appreciated.
