I recently bought a 4runner off CL in the Oregon area, so I've been keeping tabs on everything posted. That particular listing has been up there for...awhile :bravo:

Sadly, overpricing is the exact reason I ended up going with a 2wd instead of a 4WD or 4x4. Everything I found, and I searched for 3 months prior to buying my rig, was either ridiculously overpriced, from what I could afford or was wanting to pay, or had an insane amount of miles and still asking for way to much in my opinion.

There was a post on craiglists not to long ago here for my area, 06 SR5 4WD with 230k, dude was asking $13,500 when it had interior damage and his wife smoked in it since they had purchased it. Wouldn't budge on price. The smoking alone would make me look at a different vehicle, that shit smells disgusting and is hard to get out of vehicles. And I'm a smoker if that says anything.

Yeah, I've seen a noticeable increase in $13K+ 3rd gens over the past few months. $17K is just damn absurd! For that price that thing better be perfect, which it is not.

Yeah, I haven't seen an appreciable price decrease in the last several years, so I guess it wouldn't be crazy to assume prices may start rising in the next few years. The fist gens certainly are going up.

I would bet they have less than 4k in that thing. I'm sure someone traded it in for pennies, then it went to auction, where they probably bought it for 2.5k.

I am glad I found mine when I did. I felt like I overpaid at $7K, but when skimming through the offerings these days, similar vehicles are going for ~$9-13K!?!? WTH?
