2000 4Runner HVAC System Does Not Work

Hey guys, so I just bought my first vehicle, a 2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6. It has 200,000 miles. It has little problems here and there but nothing that a mechanic can't fix easily. There is one problem that has me completely stumped. My HVAC system does not work at all. It doesn't blow air, the A/C light doesn't come on, Nothing. I can't find any fuses that are specific to this system and I don't know what to do. The previous owner took out the A/C condenser as it had sprung a leak but I have a used one that I haven't put in yet. I took a peak at the blower motor under the glove box and found nothing out of the ordinary except I found something that looks like a motherboard half hanging down. It was still plugged in and was obviously broken out from a piece of trim inside there. I have no idea what this piece is or does and I think maybe it has something to do with the HVAC system not working.
I will post a picture of the weird electrical thing!
Thank you very much and please help!
