2000 4Runner not running right

I am having major problems with our 2000 V6 Toyota 4Runner. The vehicle will run fine in the 1900 to 2500RPM range but otherwise it stutters and misses as if it is not getting fuel. It has been in to the shop and the pressure from the fuel pump is fine, the fuel filter was recently replaced and is fine. Both O2 sensors are new and working fine and the spark plugs look fine.
One thing that the mechanic did note is that the exhaust is getting really hot, way more than it should. Anybody have any ideas as to what this could be. Thanks.

You need to fire your mechanic. lol Did your mechanic tell you how hot the exhaust is and how hot it should be? haha... It doesn't mean that the spark plugs work fine if they look fine. Replace 'em.
