Silver 2000 4runner 3.4 w/5speed and 4wd
180,000+ miles
southern vehicle w/ no rust
grey leather
runs and looks good

I also believe its the sport edition? due to the hood scoop and the special 5 star rims.

No idea if it has the elocker.

I looked at kbb, it says ~$5000 to $6000 depending on Limited or SR5 :)

TIA

todays my only day to go take a look at it.

Don't expect too many responses between 2AM and 7:30 AM...

I would say that 5-6k sounds pretty reasonable as long it really is in good condition (it should be inspected by a 3rd party mechanic and have nothing major reported).

The price will also be affected by how many extras it has, the locker being a big one of these, condition of the leather, tires, etc. At least for the locker, decide if you will actually use it and let that affect whether you take it into consideration. BTW, and SR5 with all the option (like mine, also a 2000) has all the features of the limited, there might be some pretty minute differences, but the feature set is the same.

You didn't mention the price of the sale. That would be helpful. A link to the ad would be helpful too.

At 180K it could be due for a timing belt/water pump change depending on when or if it was done before. I would use that to leverage the price down $500

Well, how much is the guy asking for it?

That's seems to be a pretty fair price IMO. I would try to chisel him down to $7000 if it's in good running shape and looks good because like kball said, it probably needs a TB/WP. If all the maintenance is up to date with the receipts to prove it, you may want to consider the full asking price if he's unwilling to budge and you really like it. The 5 speeds are always hard to find.

Yeah, That price isn't bad. That is about what I paid for mine, same as this one, except 103k and automatic, and rust. I have to spend some pretty serious extra scratch to fix the rust problems, so if that one is problem free, I'd say it's a good deal.

That price isnt bad especially if it has no rust. The locker would be a plus. Check the leather because it must have been dealer installed. 4runners only had tan leather from the factory. KBB is often low because demand for the 4runners is very high.

Yeah when I was trying to get some cash recently my bank offered to finance my 4Runner for 8k, that is a 98 with 217k miles on it so even banks (at least the 2 I deal with)realize the value in our vehicles.

I have actually been looking at a 2000 4runner as well. I decided to pull the trigger and am buying it today. It is a 2000 sr5 4wd. It has 165,000 on it, and the asking price was $6k. I was able to talk the guy down to $5000. I do know however that it will need a new o2 sensor, so that helped bring the price down.
