2000 Sr5 Sport Runner, Removed Running boards...

Hey guys did some searching and I couldnt find what I needed so....

I just took off the running boards on my 2000 Sr5 Sport 4Runner and Im looking to put some mudflaps on the front fenders to avoid sh!t damaging the body since the running boards arent there anymore to protect it. Any suggestions as to which ones and where to buy them? Perhaps you have a set for sale? Oh on a side note I will be buying sliders soon, most likely 4XInnovations, and I was wondering if mudflaps would interfere with those at all? Thanks in advance!

There is a process regarding which goes on first, flaps or sliders, but I can't remember. I think flaps go first, but i'm sure someone else will chime in soon enough.

BTW you keeping or selling your boards? I still haven't decided if I want a set or not, kinda testing the waters.

I've got a set of the Highland Contura splash guards (P/N 11051) that didn't fit my Surf Widebody flares if you're looking for a set. Just taken out of the package to test fit, brand new.

I have a set of the 4x sliders that I should be installing soon. They don't look like they will interfere at all, but I'll let you know if they do.

Dang, you beat me to it. I've got the same set and they don't fit my rig either. Just went with the flat flaps.

I just ordered some OEM from TRDparts4u.com. The same OEM mud flaps you can get from the stealership but probably a little cheaper. My dealership quoted me 45$ a piece and i got them for 65$ shipped on there.

I actually just got them in the mail today and look great!

They'll fit perfect (minus some minor trimming). The flares on the Hilux Surf's are wider at the base.

Alright awesome I'll take your word for it haha. I saw you had to trim something using that link you posted earlier but to clarify is it the fender that needs trimming or is it the body?

In that link it looks like they trimmed that metal "lip" or "tab" you may call it, that drops down underneath. So that would be the body, not your flare. It looks like they just grinded that down some.

You don't need to trim the body at all. I trimmed quite a bit off of the flap, but you really only need to cut a notch in the flap to get around the pinch weld at the base of the flare. It will makes sense once you have the flap lined up to the flare.

Yeah I don't know what I was thinking about. I went outside and looked after I posted above and realized that the "lip or tab" really doesn't need to be messed with, but I presume thats what the guy was talking about in the referenced link.
