After getting the 01-02 4runner headlights and with all the positive feedback from the t4r members, I decided to go all out and do the full conversioin with the OEM 01-02 tail lights + the front 01-02 Grille + Clear Bumper/Corner Lights. Any recommedations or anything I should add? Thankx for everybody's help.

I'm thinking about doing the same tail light swap on my 99. Where did you buy them, and how did you wire them? New harness?

I bought the tails from 1sttoyotaparts.com. This is the internet site of a dealer in Washington state.

The new tails actually come w/ a wiring harness and new bulbs. The difficult thing is to use the harness, you have to take apart some of the interior panels in the rear of the truck. It was much easier for me to just slice the old wires and connect the wires on the truck to the new tails.

By the way, it's also better to go w/ Jason Burtman's chrome bulbs. I bought them after some recommendations and they're great. They look clear during the day but light up amber at night so no issues w/ police or anything.

grab the wires from an 01-02 and splice the first 2 bulb wires and you're golden, I think. I will report back.

the 3rd bulb wires seems to fit fine btw.

Definitely no reason to splice wires! The '01/02 tails plug in right behind the tail light bucket- behind the interior quarter trim. Take the hatch threshold trim off, take one screw out, and you can pull the trim out enough to mess with the connector and ground bolt(10mm head).
