Selling my 2001 4runner SR5 with 144k miles (4x4, 3.4L, automatic). I picked this up in 2012 with the hopes of getting into expedition or two track like 4-wheeling after selling my lifted Wrangler. Priorities change and this really became just a daily driver for me back and forth to work and saw very little time offroad (a couple trips in 4 years). Some of the things weren't even installed or hooked up given what I was using it for. I've only put 25k miles on it over the last 4.5 years and it has been reliable just like every other Toyota I've owned.
Interior was pretty dirty when I got it (no idea why) and it has been cleaned up to be reasonable now, but it's not pristine. It does have leather that's in decent shape. Side of the driver seat has the typical cracks and there is also about a 3" rip in the back seat from the previous owner. Plastic panels in the back do have their fair share of scratches from before I owned it. It also has a moon roof.
Vehicle is in good mechanical condition, as I mentioned, this was my daily driver. There is a check engine light on and has been since I bought it. The code is P0446 Evap Cntrl System Vent Ckt Malfunction. When reading on forums there were numerous stories of people replacing everything in the system to get this code to go away. It wasn't worth it to me to chase the code so it's still on. I have a scanner and will gladly put the scanner on it while you're here so you can see that's the only code on.
Exterior is in pretty good shape with a few things worth mentioning. Again, these were there when I bought it so can't say what happened. Hood is chipped (see pic). There is a dent in the passenger door but never broke the paint (see pic). There are a couple small dents in the tailgate (see pic). The rocker panels under the doors are starting to show rust from the outside but that's about the only exterior rust on the body.
Here are some of the things that were done to it from a mechanical standpoint since I bought it.
- Spring 2012 (~120k miles): Radiator, external trans cooler, both CV shafts, front brakes and new battery (fall 2012)
- Dec 2013 (~131k miles): Timing belt, water pump, and drive belts with Toyota parts. Also did upper idlers at this time.
Some of the things installed:
- 3.5 suspension (Old Man Emu)
- Sonoran Steel adjustable panhard bar
- 2" body
- ARB front bumper
- Perkins Performance Rear Plate Bumper w/ 2" hitch
- E-locker third member but not wired
- Stubs Deluxe weld on rock sliders/rocker guards
- JVC head unit w/ USB and audio input with Tacoma whip mod to remove automatic antenna
- Bud Built skid plates
- 285/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs with decent tread left (1/4"-5/16", pic is in 32nds)
- Husky liner in rear cargo area
- Weather Tech floor mats front/rear
Others things:
- Warn M8000 winch: controller and cables are under hood; winch isn't currently mounted to bumper but was previously used
- Rear Bud Built skid plate is not installed (still in the packaging)
- Hella 500s on the bumper are installed but not wired
- As mentioned has the e-locker third member but was never wired into the cab
- First gen roll bar
- Think I have some brand new rear brakes parts, too
A couple of the pics were after it was recently washed but before I recently painted the rocker guards. This is a good vehicle that doesn't need anything to be driven, but there are always things that could be done if you really wanted.
I don't need to sell it, but I think it's time for something different. No trades.
