Thanks for the "rust" notes Peter. Rust is definitely an issue in the Northeast, as they spread salt and other chemicals on the roads for traction in the winter, which obviously contributes to rust. With my '96 Tacoma I have had it undercoated and rust proofed with a product called "Rust Check", but that may be available only in Canada, not sure. I know their are other companies out there as well. I'd probably look at something for this as well.
Btw......i've got it home with me for the night.....i'm going to drive it up on the ramps in abit to look things over. I spoke with the original owner today who just returned it off it's lease a few weeks ago. It's been serviced every 8,000 kms (5000 miles) since new, which was per Toyota's recommendation. His wife drove it back and forth to University while studying her degree......I don't think she hurt it any. It's a clean truck. I drove it for an hour on the highway this afternoon from work, no issues there. No rattles, squeaks, noises, everything works fine. Very tight. Fairly quiet on the highway, you don't notice the sunroof or moonroof at all, albeit it was closed, but still quiet. Has that brown leather interior, and Gold exterior. I don't like the looks of the running boards, they take away from the "ground clearance" appearance, bit it does sit high. It's just an opinion. Haven't had a chance to try out any of the 4 hi, 4 low, etc, but will in abit. Has the same motor as my '96 Taco......3.4 V6, and after 300,000 kms, it ain't showing any signs of slowing down. This is an Auto though, and the Taco is a 5 sp, have to say it's a treat to get behind the wheel of an Auto for a change.
Time to crawl underneath of that thing...!
