2001 forerunner glass?

The back windshield in my 2001 forerunner just completely exploded outwards while it was parked. Observers say nothing hit it, it just totally seemed to explode outwards completely into tiny shreads. Has anyone heard of this? Was there a recall I missed? We live in a very hot climate, but recently it has been fairly mild, so I don't think it was todays heat. Considering how costly the tinted, movable, defogger glass will be, should I contact Toyota?

Not sure why it happened, but most comprehensive insurance will allow you to replace it for free anyways. So I would say just have it replaced. I was in a car once that the redefroster was left on (in warm weather) and the back back window did exactly as you explained.
