2001 Leaking radiator - options?

Looks like the bottom, passenger side has a slow leak.
There is pink crust around the passenger bottom corner.

There is no hose there so I assume it is the radiator.

What are the typical methods for this?
Have the radiator rebuilt/repaired. Dunno if this can be done since it is plastic.

Or just buy a new one?

Any decent source for this?

Since you are new here, the other poster could have been a little friendier. Welcome and you probably need to search for radiator failure and the transmission. Our radiators have a separate cooler for the transmission inside them. You do not want the two fluid to mix. There are several posts about this.

If it really is the pink milkshake, then you will want to get the milkshake out of the transmission ASAP before it does more damage. You are gonna need a new radiator, maybe a transmission rebuild, and to avoid this problem from happening again, it is a good idea to add an external transmission cooler and bypass the radiator cooler (this will keep the coolant and ATF separate and make it impossible to accidentally mix)

I don't think the fluids have mixed.
The pink was the original coolant color.
My tranny fluid looks fine also.

I need to look for a new radiator now!

Try 1-800-Radiator. Get an OEM one it should be around $150?

Ok the Pink Crust is from dried Coolant leaking from the gasket between the radiator core and the plastic tanks. This is an easy repair from a radiator shop however it costs about the same as buying the Koyo A1998 radiator. I ordered mine a couple weeks ago from GoParts.com and was $137 plus $19 shipping. I had it 2 or 3 days later. Lifetime guarantee and all that.

I was looking for opionons on if it makes sense to repair/replace the radiator...
And I have the answer now.. replace instead of repair.

Only because I have seen so many sob stories about pink milkshake and the forum is chuck full of posts about how to avoid that disaster. I guess I got a little jaded. I really have to scratch my head when I see a veteran forum member get bit in the butt by an issue that's posted about every friggin day. It's like wtf is wrong with them? Aren't they even reading?

Some people don't read. I see it all the time. It's like they have their mind already made up even before they post asking. I'm banging my monitor wondering why somebody is oblivious to the answer that was just posted for them.

This is not the only auto/boat forum I follow. I'm constantly seeing the newbies who show up and post before lifting a finger to even search. It gets old posting/reading the same responses all the time. Some of these things should be stickys or maybe have canned responses every time a newbie shows up with the same old same old.

I didn't know this was the root of the problem. So a new radiator is actually a surefire solution.
