Got a CEL a few month ago, pulled the code, random misfire and cyl 6 misfire. I changed the spark plugs and cleared the code. The gas mileage has gotten much better, and the CEL went away for a while but now its back and throwing the same code. Also, from time to time when we get in to start it, it takes 5 or 6 seconds to start, normaly it would fire right up. I initially wanted to replace the wires but that was before I saw that the passenger side is coil on plug. Is it worth moving the coils around and seeing if it still says cylinder 6?
It has 174k miles, well maintained. I've dumped a bottle of fuel injector in the gas and it made no difference We frequently tow with it. I need a direction to head here, I'm not sure how to test injectors?
