2001 sr5 vsc transmission issues upgrade ecm question

Hey all, I have a 2001 4runner 4wd. Had nothing but problems with vsc/check engine lights--codes for transmission solenoid(s). Finally the tranny came apart so we replaced it with a new one. New tranny runs fine, but the vsc check engine lights returned right away. Now the code was for too lean and I can't remember the tranny code(s).

Long story short I find out from my mechanic that apparently Toyota put out a TSB on this tranny (ecm) issue and it requires the ecm board to be modified or flashed. Anyone got any help with this scenario?

I trust dealerships abut as far as I can throw them.

yes, you have to have TIS software to reflash , then drive it to teach the ecm shift points. But get the lean issue corrected first.
