alright, so earlier today i was driving to class thinking... i wonder what would happen if i had a head on collision with someone, and i thought about the different possibilities, tonight after i left the liqour store (of course), a woman in a '91 Audi decided to run head on into me in a blockbuster parking lot. before i had a chance to react we ran into each other, about a 30 mph combined speed wreck, not bad, and it felt like i hit a tree, not too bad, but it slowed the vehicle down.... anyways, here are the pics of my truck, cop quoted 3k for the damge, i dont think it will be near that much.... if any... perhaps just remount the bumper and pull out the front fender....

I love it when cops quote how much damage there is. WTF do they know about body/frame repair.

Your damage looks minimal, so tell us how much punishment did you dish out on the Audi?

damn, that took it pretty well. doesnt look like you suffered too much damage.

id say if your brackets arent tweaked, you should remount it yourself and keep the cash!

If the cop gave her a citation and he wrote the accident report in your favor, you shouldn't have a problem. The damage to your truck is definitely minimal for a 30mph collision. That ARB really saved your truck from some serious damage! How much damage did the Audi have? Also, was she driving on the wrong side of the road that she hit you head on?

unfortunatly i dont have any pics of the audi yet...

as far as cops quoting damage, lets just say having a 750$ bumper that is "bent" is going to for sure make it go way past 3k, hopefully, because the bumper doesnt really bend or crumple on impact, it bent my frame just a little bit up front, and pushed my front 1/4 panel out just a fraction of an inch.

yeah lee, i was impressed with how well it took it, now i understand about how you can hit a kangaroo/deer with these things and keep on moving, the only damage that i think i will fix will be the front plastic piece under the headlamp, and see if i can pull out that fender to work again. my bracket on my driver side is in fact tweaked (its supposed to crumple) but those are cheap, so easy fix there.

im going to go find her audi and take a picture of it... the ARB did save me from alot of pain, i know if i would have had a stock bumper on, or worse, a brush guard on... easily could have been alot worse... possible air bag deployment also. the audi was pretty good and damaged, remember it was a 91' that is basically a steel box with 4 tires... what did happen was i broke out her passenger parking lamp/turn signal, pushed in both her headlights, broke her grille, broke her bumper to where it was about to fall off if she pulled on it, and busted her other parking lamp. she has a nice crease on her hood, and the passenger fender is pushed out, she drove it away, but i have a feeling there was some serious frame damage to her's, wouldnt be surprised if it was totaled, really old/bad condition vehicle... meet steel bumper,

yes, she was in fact driving on the wrong side of the road, however it was in a parking lot, and she thought it kept going when in fact it didnt, and turned directly into me, by the time i had processed the fact that she was in my way... it was too late, after i hit her i was like, wow, it feels alot different without everything crumpling... it def. was a forceful impact...
