2002 4Runner front or rear wheel drive?

Stupid question. Is the 2002 4R front or rear wheel drive when the 4x4 is not engaged? I'm pretty sure it is front but someone I talked to recently said they thought it was rear and I can't seen to find a great answer online.

Rear for sure. The transfer case engages the front end for 4x4 only
