2002 4runner: replacing rear bumper?

My 2002 4Runner has over 200K miles on it now and going strong. However, the rear chrome bumper is being eaten away by rust. It's common with 4Runners I'm told. There are two sizeable holes in it now and I think I need to replace it entirely.

I've never done bumper work before. Is this difficult? Any advice?

I suppose I'll look for 3rd party/aftermarket bumper pieces.
Suggestions?
