Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has installed the rear driver side bumper ends by themselves? Is it easy to do? Any detailed instructions you could share? I did see there are generally 4 screws that have to be removed. Does the plastic piece that goes on top of the rear bumper has to come off in order to remove the bumper end? Any helpful info/detailed instruction would be much appreciated since i am a newbie when it comes to auto stuff.

THANKS!!!

it's relatively easy to remove/replace the rear bumper pieces and you 're right I believe only 4 screws hold 'em..If you have mudflaps first remove them as there's a screw just to the side of the bumper, one just above it on the wheel well, two at the opposite end- on the very bottom and one hiding inside the plastic piece covering the rear bumper...yes removal of this plastic piece is necessary..its held by clips/plugs..just pull the piece upwards...you only need 12mm to remove 4 screws- you might find a ratchet extension beneficial in removing the screw above the mudflaps...You're welcome!

thank you! i'll try installing it tonight and see how it works out. The screws are a bit rusted from what i can see but i am hoping to use get some help from WD40.

Thanks again!

Wish i saw this before i started the project. I snapped one of them. And also to remove the mud flap there are two plastic clips that you have to 'pull' off as well. I started the project right around 7 but didn't finish before getting dark. I got stuck with the far inside one of the wheel well - couldn't get that one off at all. Will try again tomorrow....

Thanks everyone for the advice!

soak those mud flap bolts really well in WD or brake fluid...they are VERY easy to snap

dude, it is easy to remove your bumper end. this is what I call a "do it yourself" job.

Buy yourself a socket set already. Don't just buy the individual sockets. You'll use a "mechanics" tool kit for hundreds of things in everyday life.

so basically everything only requires a 12mm socket to remove the bumper...

the side mud flaps/ body flares require a 10mm socket...

total to remove bumper = 12mm and 10mm socket

only those two sizes....

picture shown is only the top plastic piece of the bumper which technically doesn't require anything more than getting the clips through...

you absolutely DO have to remove the plastic bumper top valence part to reach 1 of the 4 bolts holding the sides on. (bumper is 3 parts)

but all the bolts showing are all 12mm
