2002 satellite radio mounting bracket?

Sorry if this is a dup thread. I tried to dig through this section and couldn't find anything on this. Essentially, what I'm trying to do (let me start by saying that I'm totally cheap) is replicate the Pro.Fit TY-70-96 bracket. I just can't bring myself to pay $40 for a piece of metal. So my question is where has anybody mounted their satellite radio reciever? And has anyone tried to replicate that bracket. If so, how did it work out and what were the dimensions that you needed to bend the metal to get it to fit the contours of the dash and trim panel. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

So nobody has a 3rd Gen who has installed a satellite radio add-on reciever? I'm just looking for suggestions (on where/how to mount the receiver--not where I should go). I'd really appreciate any help anybody can provide.

it's not a 3rd gen, but...I manufactured a framework that mounts just behind the left side of the glove box using the factory screws to originally hold a gps, then later added a ham radio remote display on there. I'm gonna go back and redo it with a little stronger metal and a few extra anchor places to keep it from bouncing as much, but other than that, I'm happy. here's a couple of threads that have pictures:

Well I know you said you didn't want to pay $40 but how about $20? If so, there is a company called Panavise that makes a bracket nearly identical to the Profit ones. I have a Panavise in my 3rd gen and it works fine for my purposes and was easy enough to install. Here are some links:

I also ordered a "Clip Caddy" with mine (Part number 777) and it has worked well but I'm using it for a cell phone at this point and not for GPS or sat radio.
