2002 T4R - Trailer Hitch Rating?

Hi All,

I'm helping my Father-in-law move from Ohio to Virginia. I'm considering getting a Uhaul trailer, and connecting it to my 2002 T4R.

Does anyone know what my "Trailer Hitch Rating" would be?

Does anyone have any advice / concerns that I should consider before embarking on this venture?

We would need to know what class hitch you have. It's most likely a class III which is rated for 500 lbs. tongue weight and 5,000 lbs. towing capacity which includes the weight of the trailer and the cargo. You should also read the owner's manual on towing.

Just tow with the OD off and don't beat it to death. Uhaul trailers have a tendency to "walk," so be forewarned.

Very true. Non stop swaying. Even loaded. You should be rated at 5,000lbs, and to really help the truck out you can look into a weight distribution hitch if you are towing more frequently. Otherwise, drive smart and leave lots of room to stop.

Hmm, I would have to disagree with you on that. I have over 118k on my Runner and I'm on my original pads and rotors. Just now am I starting to see a little fade and pulse in the pedal. :thanks:
