2003 4r v8 sport

hey guys im fairly new here on this website. As everyone knows, uncle sams tax returns are coming in soon. lol. I have a 03 v8 sport. i'm looking to put a lift on it. price ranges probably no more than 4-500. I read on here that the sport has something called the x-reas? does that limit me to what kind of lift I can get? If not a lift, are there spacers, coilovers that I can substitute them for? this is my first truck im attempting to lift. So any info would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

For your budget, you might be able to swing new 5100s and FJ coils and only if you plan on doing the install yourself. If you're paying someone... a spacer lift is all you're getting. Read thru that whole thread and you'll have a much better idea of what you can and can't do and what it will cost you.

Need to determine if the x-reas is working & not leaking , they work in tandem side to side I believe . Good reading in sticky about all lift info .

xreas works in diagonally opposed corners.... hence what the acronym stands for "Cross linked (X) REactive Absorber System".. tons of links on here about it. just search it..

for your budget if your XREAS is not leaking I'd suggest a daystar 2.5/1.5 lift...
but as eluded to front and rear billies with the cheapest possible front springs is a good option...you can reuse your rear springs with a space to gain an adequate lift... although if you're going to get billies I'd suggest new coils on all 4 corners... would probably be closer to $600 if you install it yourself but worth the extra $100 in the long run and prevent rework.

thanks guys. ive read the sticky and have found valuable info on it. I guess my question really is, has anyone tried the x-reas with the spacers and how does it perform, long term. I really like the xreas, and yes mine does work.

You pretty much have to decide if you want to spend the money now, or now and later. XREAS will eventually fail and since you're looking to lift it, it is a good time to upgrade. There are much better options over XREAS and spacers will get old fast. I'm sure [MENTION=55855]zopperman[/MENTION] will chime in regarding this, after running Daystar on top of XREAS for a little while. Bilstein 5100's are a good upgrade and will last a very long time.

Many have, including me. I just ordered my "real" lift. The daystar was a nice stopgap until I knew/could afford what I really wanted. It allowed slightly larger tires and made the truck look a lot better. I'll sell you the front spacers cheap if you want them, then you can look around for a deal on rear ones or get them from amazon. PM me if you want more info.
