2003 4runner 4wd not working HELP!!!!

my wife's 4runner 4wd is not working. the lights flash on the dash but now 4x4. when you try to put it in 4lo it beeps and the 4lo light comes on, but no gear reduction or 4x4.

i know this is my first post, but i have been a troll on here for a while. i have yet to run into a problem you'll didn't have fixed already!

I wouldn't classify yourself as a troll--they're usually problem childs. I say you were a lurker.

fair enough...i guess that is better than "troll"

i keep telling her she has to put in 4wd every month, but she's a woman. i fiddled with it this morning(18*) got it to work. i still don't know what happened but after some time shifting to 4wd and back to 2wd it started working! guess it was just frozen. i tested it around 30 times and now it's working!

Glad it's working. Check your maintenance records to make sure the fluids in the system were changed every 30K miles. If not, change them as soon as you can -- old fluids can be a contributing factor.

As far as switching it every month, I just remember to do it on the first of the month.
