2003 4Runner Basic Maintenance pricing at a Toyota Dealershp

hello,
as a novice to the ownership of the 4runner (bought a used 2003 in september), i decided to take it to the Toyota dealership today for an inspection of the fluids and to ask for the quote. this is the quote from the Toyota dealership:
- oil change, filter change, check fluids, clean breaks = $150
- front and rear differential oil change (synthetic), transfer case fluid change = $255.

truck has 155,000 kilometers on the odometer.

Question for the esteemed forum members:
- are the listed services reasonably priced in your opinion?
- what would you suggest as the regular schedule for the mentioned maintenance (oil/filter/differential) for the truck that is moderately used?

The $150 for an oil and filter change is basically highway robbery, and why would you want your brakes cleaned?

As for the gear oil price, it's not that bad but you'd still be paying a premium to have them do it at the dealership as opposed to a quick-lube type of place. When I changed my gear oil it basically cost me about $80 in materials and two hours of my time.

I personally wouldn't suggest using the dealership for routine maintenance.

the inspection at toyota dealership told me that the front driver side break calipers seized, so, they are piling up on the quote...

What is cleaning breaks? Do they also change the blinker fluid??

my dealer wanted 229 for a 4x4 service (diffs and t case) which i just can't justify when the local guy will do it for parts + like 50 bucks.

My local dealership, Mossy Toyota, is actually pretty fair on most services. An oil change and lube, plus a car wash is about $25. I can't do it for that. I always check around before having them do anything much more than the oil change. Although they only charge $350 or so for the timing belt on our V8. Overall, I am very please with their service and prices. Phil

Serious?? For a TB Job? its about 3 times that here.. :frisky:
